1st Tuesday of every month 2.00pm for 2.30pm start at Chester Picturehouse, Hunter Street, CH1 2AR
3rd Thursday of every month. 10.00am for 10.30am at St Columba's Church Hall, Plas Newton Lane, Upton, CH2 1SA
We hold two meetings each month, which are open to all members for no charge. Non-members are welcome to attend one meeting as an introduction to the u3a and to find out more about the benefits of joining. Please just make yourself known to one of the "Meet & Greeters" on the door.
At each meeting, a guest speaker gives a talk based on their experiences and expertise. Topics in the past have been many and various, with recent talks including the lives of the Bronte sisters, the music of the Gershwins and the work of a criminal barrister. You can see a full list by clicking on the link below. If the speaker agrees, we record the talk and it can be viewed for 30 days afterwards on our YouTube channel.
There is time before the talk for members to get together for a chat, with free refreshments available (please bring your own mug). The meetings are a good way to meet other members, keep up-to-date with u3a news, and book onto social events.
Suggestions for future speakers, including u3a members who would be interested in giving a talk, are always welcomed by the Speaker Secretary.
Occasionally, talks are given at Storyhouse, as part of a collaboration with this exciting city-centre venue.
