The Local History Group meets on the 1st Thursday of every month at 2.30pm.

Chester u3a Local History is a friendly group which meets on the 1st Thursday of every month 2.30-4pm at Bowling Green Court in Brook St. For 2026 we have chosen leisure as our theme. Each month someone leads a discussion based on the month’s chosen topic. The sessions also have a focus on oral history, sharing experiences and memories, whether in Chester or elsewhere, as well as discussing the wider context in which the activities took place and trying to look at local history from different perspectives.

We ask all members make a contribution towards the cost of room hire and tea/coffee.
