The Off Lead Dog Walking Group has started recently

This group has an overall leader but is seeking volunteers to act as leaders for the individual walks. Judith has provided some guidance below.

Pack walking is for experienced handlers only so each dog must be controlled by the owner / handler. Dogs should comply with legal requirements: Micro chipped; Collar with identity tag. Conditions apply for certain breeds. Dogs should be vaccinated, including kennel cough, wormed and receive flea and tick prevention.

Please carry poop bags. Members must carry a lead in case we come across farm animals .

Dogs are like people: They don’t always get on but as a rule they are more tolerant than us. It might take a while for us/them to get to know each other so we need to be patient.

All dogs have issues eg recall barking, chasing etc. so it is important to give time for others to stop and deal with their dog.
