On Wednesday 13th November a second trip has been arranged to visit The World of Glass Museum and visitor centre in St Helens as promised.
This is a purpose built premises, next to the original Pilkington Glass Works. It is a chance to learn about the glass industry through the years and see what life was like in a Victorian town. The visit will begin with a complimentary cup of tea or coffee after which we will have a guided tour and a glass blowing demonstration.
A buffet lunch is included, then there will be free time to explore the many galleries showing glass from the past to the present. You will also be able to see the original tunnels, the Victorian furnace and the artisan gift shop for Christmas presents.
We hope to leave at around 3.30pm to arrive back at the first stop at 4.30pm ish depending on the traffic.
Pick up times are as usual, Hough Green 9.00am, Delamere Street 9.10am and Sainsbury’s at 9.20am.
