Opportunities to Volunteer in our U3A

Our U3A is always in need of volunteers to take on roles that will help our U3A work better for our members. You could offer to join the committee but there are plenty of other ways in which you can help without the need to join the main committee.

Here are some of the roles and a sample of the duties associated with them:

Website team member - to share the work of maintaining & developing our website using the U3A Siteworks tool.

Social committee members - to join a team to organise day trips and more. See the Past Past events page for examples of what we have done over the years - maybe you have your own ideas.

Facebook admin - Help with the admin of Facebook - authorising members use and uploading members (those who are not yet familiar with FB) articles and photos.

Publicity - Help with designing the various pamphlets e.g. study booklet, introductory leaflets News paper contact etc.

Accessibility/Inclusion Officer - someone who would be able to assist a member who finds accessing groups difficult because of mobility, visual impairment, hearing loss. Our 'Accessibility policy' is available here.

Volunteer coordinator - a contact for all the volunteers whatever their role should they need assistance, and/or advice.

Group leader - many of our group leaders would welcome someone who could help them, and possibly eventually take over leadership of the group.

And of course you could start a new group in an area which you find interesting. Just contact our Groups Coordinator to discuss this.
