Christine's grandfather was a British soldier in India, who met and married her grandmother, an Anglo Indian, in 1932.  She grew up listening to their stories of life in India and Afghanistan, but nothing was more dramatic than their flight from Kabul to Bombay in 1947, at the time of the Partition of India and Pakistan. In recent years as her Dad’s memory started to fade, she started writing down the stories and researched the political backdrop for this time of great turmoil and tragedy.
