We were formerly known as the Geology Group. We aim to find out about the geosphere, hydrosphere and atmosphere both past and present, and think about the future of the earth.

We meet once a month on 4th Tuesday between 10am and 12 noon. We are a group of mainly enthusiastic amateurs but include several members who took higher education in geology, geography or engineering. For the meeting mobility is not an issue. The venue has access for wheel chairs. Those who can or wish to join the very occasional field trip, escorted tour of suitable venues do so..

Group members currently pay £15/year for room hire. Tea or coffee and a biscuit are available at the meetings for a small contribution.

There are 11 meetings a year. A programme is organised by the coordinators for talks, videos etc given by members who volunteer their time. The draft programme for 2025 is shown below.

There is a car park at St Mary's. If other activities are happening at the same time then the car park can be busy, so car sharing or public transport may ease parking congestion.

We can accommodate some new members The group could expand to 35 members.
