More About Being a Member

When you apply for membership of Chester u3a, it is assumed that you agree to our terms and conditions of membership, and our various policies on Privacy and Data Protection.

Members can attend any of our regular Tuesday and Thursday meetings (click the Events tab to see what is coming up) and may join any of our groups (click on the Groups tab to see the current list) and go on any of our social and educational outings. The regular meetings are free (and include a cup of tea or coffee) but there may be a charge for group meetings and social outings.

Chester u3a Member Code of Conduct

Chester u3a is a self-help learning community run by its members for its members. Everyone gives their time freely. We expect all members to help maintain a friendly, welcoming and supportive environment in which everyone feels comfortable to participate.

Members agree to:

  • Create a welcome atmosphere for all members and visitors
  • Show respect and courtesy to fellow members
  • Treat all members with politeness and consideration
  • Listen to others and avoid intimidating behaviour
  • Support Chester u3a by abiding by our policies and constitution
  • Communicate appropriately and through the correct channels

This Code of Conduct (short version) was approved by Chester u3a Committee in March 2026.
